Learn the fundamentals of crack climbing and start your journey to climbing El Cap! Face it, crack climbing is not face climbing. It is unintuitive, frustrating, and uncomfortable. Until you crack the code and fill the gaps with new skills. Experiment with crack climbing movement while on top rope enjoy the process and hopefully bleed less.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
Understand the basic ideas behind stable jams. Learn different techniques to use on various crack sizes from hand jams to finger locks, and stacking techniques for wider cracks. Learning objectives include:

Jam! (Expanding, twisting, levering)

Circle of power (other muscle groups)

Crack shuffle (movement patterns)

Body alignment (Less pain, more verticle gain)

To bleed or not to bleed (tape, gloves, layers)
PRE-REQUISITES:

Proficient top rope belayer

12 months of climbing experience (indoor or outdoor)

Able to top rope 5.9 without hangs or falls.
OPEN ENROLLMENT GROUP COURSES
This course must reach a minimum enrollment of 2 students 14 days in advance in order to run. If we do not reach the minimum students, we will cancel the course and provide a full refund.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED?

Transportation. You will follow in your own vehicle to the climbing area and depart from that location when your trip is complete.

Gratuities. Your AMGA Certified Guide is a trained service provider who takes pride in offering you the best service possible. Tips are a way to show your appreciation for their professionalism. We recommend 10-20% of your total trip price as a starting point.
