New River Gorge Rock Climbing and Yoga Retreat

Surround yourself with inspiring people and get your crank on. We will be bedding down at the Opossum Creek Retreat, which is pretty perfect if we must say so ourselves. The Meadow Cabin sleeps 20, in private rooms and shared bunkrooms. The open grassy area is the perfect place to practice yoga outdoors.
Dinners are included (Friday and Saturday) and will be made with as many local and organic foods that we can get our hands on! Our holistic health coach will make sure that these foods are nutritious, tasty and packed full of protein for our worked muscles. You're on your for breakfast and lunch each day, but there are grocery stores close by where you can stock up on your favorite foods.
Every day will include morning and afternoon yoga sessions led by Erin Larsen, Certified Yoga Instructor and Health Coach, who will lead you through both relaxing and challenging yoga sessions. Erin has over 10 years of experience and is classically trained in the Ashtanga tradition which she studied in India. She holds a certification in the Pranavashya method from her teacher, Vinay Kumar who taught both Vinyasa and Therapeutic Yoga. She has also had the privilege of taking workshops with top instructors including Shiva Rea and Baron Baptiste, David Swenson and Annie Pace, Todd Norian and Desiree Rumbaugh, in the Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Anusara traditions respectively.
The afternoons will be filled with rock climbing sessions with American Mountain Guide Association Certified Single Pitch Instructors. We will focus on movement and technique skills to climb more efficiently by practicing yoga on the rock. We will have a 4:1 climber/instructor ratio and will divide the group into different skill groups if necessary. All levels of climbers are welcome to attend, both novice and those with more experienee.
Back at the bunkhouse, we'll enjoy a healthy dinner, slack line playtime, bonfire, music and plenty of laughs. Slacklines will be set up for the whole weekend right outside the cabin and can be used at any time. We will receive some instruction on walking them, as well as using them for support yoga postures and other fun.

Schedule: Friday 1-6 pm Arrive at Opossum Creek Retreat and enjoy some rest and relaxation as you get settled in for the weekend. 6-7 pm Restorative Poses for Neck and Shoulders with a focus on shoulder alignment 7:30 Dinner 8:00-? Bonfire, Slack lining, Music? bring anything you can strum or bang on!
Saturday 8:00-9:00 Morning Yoga Session to warm up for the day of climbing, focusing on hip and shoulder openers. End with breathing exercises (Pranayama) to increase focus and calm the mind. 9:00-10:00 Breakfast on your own 10:00 am -4:00 pm Climbing, bring a bag lunch 6-7:30 Catered dinner at the cabin 8:00 pm -? Bonfire, Slackline, etc?
Sunday 7:30-9:00 am Morning Yoga Session, Chill, Sleep some more? 9:30-10:30 am Grab breakfast, chill out and pack up before climbing 11:00 am-4:00 pm Climbing, Lunch at the Crag 4:00 pm Head back home or take advantage of the yummy local restaurants like Pies & Pints, Secret Sandwich Society, Gumbos or Diogis
